Lake Powell, Utah

Lake Powell is a First Block Break (late September) tradition at The Colorado College.
And for the truly dedicated, 7th Block Break (late April) as well.
I made the trip 5 times and treasure each one for their memories that will last beyond my lifetime.

It is without a doubt an enviromental tragedy, what with the erasure of Glen Canyon from the map,
but that happened before I was born, and Lake Powell's beauty cannot be denied.

After an all-night drive through Colorado and the Utah desert,
sleeping in the parking lot was always something to look forwad to.

Partying all-day at Powell is serious business.
Sometimes you just have to grab some shuteye when -
and where you can.  That lump at the deep end of the
photo is a live human.

Upon their return, the staff at Halls Crossing and other area marinas
regularly commended the Colorado College students
for their courteous use of the house boats :)
